The Big 3
No, this isn't phsyics. This is a set of rules that has governed my life as an anorexic for who knows how long. I have a bunch of little rules, too, but these are the 3 major ones:
The 7-7 Rule
Dinner must be eaten by 7:00 pm. After dinner, no food is to be consumed until
7:00 am at the earliest. This is basically the same as a 12-hour fast, meaning
if you live by this rule for an entire year, you will have equivalently fasted
for 6 months.
The 3-hour Rule
3 hours must pass between the last time you ate and the time you go to bed.
This ensures that you are actively burning calories while the food is initially
digesting, versus when you are sleeping, when metabolism slows and you burn
fewer calories.
The Double Weigh-In
You must weigh yourself twice a day, minumum. Once at night before
you go to bed or after your last bite of food is consumed, and once after
using the bathroom in the morning but before any food is consumed. This is
a more a self-esteem booster than anything else. You are always thinner in
the morning. Also, it allows me to gauge how many calories I feel "safe"
eating during the day and then judge at night how well I have done with that
figure.
